Meet Bobbie – Committed Production Manager, Musician, Loving Dad and Employee of the Month

Congratulations, you won the employee of the month award! How did you feel when you found out that you won?

I kind of guessed it was coming b/c I was in the meeting and knew I’d been selected as a candidate.

When people appreciate the job you do, it’s always nice.

Do you know why you were selected?

Maybe because we’ve had lots of small issues and I’ve stepped up to help with solutions. And also, I was able to get the team to come on Sunday and communicated well.

We want to get to know you a little bit better. Can you tell us about your family?

I’m married to Pabi and we have my son, Neon. He is 14 months old and has just started walking!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I usually try to play some music. And some reading – my bible, scripture. You should check out “The Edge” and “Albatross”. They are good Nepali bands. And one Christian musician – Adrian Dewan

Who inspires you and why?

At Purnaa, Richard and Corban. Richard is so good at problem-solving. And in general, my wife – at the end of the day, she is all tired but still she has cooked and cared for our son. It’s inspiring. She does so much.

What is something fun or interesting you have done recently?

Purnaa nominated me for a US Government sponsored trip to the United States for visiting leaders. I was so amazed and interested by how organized all the meetings, restaurants, grocery stores, McDonalds, everything was there.

If you only had two word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Committed and passionate

When have you been the most satisfied in your life?

When we had Neon. Watching him grow. It motivates me to grow too.

What is your job at Purnaa?

Production floor manager – make sure the sewing teams, packing and cutting teams are running smoothly, scheduling of the production calendar, Lots of problem solving.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

Actually, its having new challenges every day. Because we serve many clients, we have changing

needs to meet.

How long have you worked at Purnaa?

Almost 4 years.

What did you do before you worked at Purnaa?

I was working at another garment factory.

What is different about Purnaa from other places you have worked?

Good relationships with co-workers and other employees. Always people around you who want to see you succeed and help you.

Why do you want to keep working at Purnaa?

I want to be part of the social mission and to help people succeed.

How have you changed as a person since working here?

To some degree…. I think I have learned to be more strict, and learned that that can make me a better leader.

What have you learned from working at Purnaa that you would like to teach other people?

To have a good plan and ambition. Set good goals. Have a mission. I think mostly I’ve learned about the importance of organizing.

If I were to ask your team leader or the people under you what your greatest strength is, what would they tell me?

That I am quick to share knowledge on how to do things and the way things work, rather than keeping it from them to protect my position.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I’m happy to be here. And I’m learning new things every day.
